This tour is inspired on our childhood memories and the stories told by those who had, long ago, smuggled people or goods over the border between Portugal and Spain. They spoke of the remote lands of Lindoso and Soajo, in the north of the Gerês. Beautiful and hard to reach lands, they said.
Today, older and comfortable in our Mercedes Vito, whenever we bring people here we remember those stories and how difficult it must have been to reach these places. The forest is dense, the landscape exuberant and there is a large chance of spotting wild animals. In some places, the villages of Parada, Lindoso and Soajo still keep the charm of those old days, with their cobblestones and the typical Upper Minho houses. And the "espigueiros" as well, still being used by the locals.
But we have more points of interest to show you. The local gastronomy will also be a center of attention. For lunch you can try the traditional cachena beef, a local bovine breed.
If you want to have a good story to tell by the end, this is the ideal tour for you.
